Scuttle Bugging
24 Nov 08

I have been looking at these Scuttle Bugs for M, who turned 2 a couple of weeks ago, for a while. I very nearly got her one for her birthday but was held back by a few reviews from Amazon.com saying that it is too small for their 2 year old. The recommended age range is 18months - 3years, so it is probably something I should have got her last year. I made the mistake when A was 2 though of getting him a trike with pedals which he didn't learn to pedal for at least another year and he ended up having his little wooden trike out in the garden which it wasn't really built for.

This one is advertised as an indoor and outdoor trike and folds up apparently very easily. It's a shame that it's not height adjustable as it really looks as though it should be. M is a bit bigger than the average 2 year old I would think. All the UK reviews say that the trike is a perfectly good size for a 2 year old tho and I have had replies to my worries on HotUKdeals saying that even their 4 year old rides around the garden happily on it. Maybe the US have a different version or maybe just bigger children.

I have decided it is worth a go. It's RRP is £24.99. John Lewis had the blue one for £20 last week but they have sold out now. Amazon and John Lewis have it for RRP with free delivery which I think is a reasonable price for such a sturdy looking little trike.
