I have officially stopped shopping for Christmas, apart from the panic trips to tescos for vital forgotten Christmas day ingredients that we simply cannot do without of course. It is late enough now that anything ordered would not arrive by Christmas which is actually a really big relief. Bargain hunting is for life though, not just for Christmas and I had to snap up this Leapfrog Phonics radio for M, reduced from £15 to £4.99. I have looked at this lots of times over the last year and been tempted to pay full price for it. Looks the perfect thing to grab as we are getting in the car for her to play with. Some of the phonics stuff might actually find it's way into A's head on the way. I had a little baby radio that A used to love in the car but we left it outside in the garden this summer and it finally died.
Unfortunately £4.99 is a penny under the £5 needed to qualify for supersaver delivery - very annoying. thought I would stick some colouring pens on to make it up as we always need loads of pens. The kids are quite into drawing these days and M will have nothing to do with crayons while A has felt tips. She insists however on taking the lid off each one which then get scattered all over the floor. I spend a good 10 mins at the end of every session trying to find lost lids and usually end up giving up with at least one pen left to dry out. I only get Crayola pens as they really do seem to wash out of everything so while searching for Crayola Markers I found these Flip-Top Markers. You flip over the lid, slide it down and clip it on the end. If you can't take the lid off you can't lose it? Surely this is the answer to my prayers? Lets hope so as they are relatively expensive at £2.99 for 6 but if we actually manage to keep them all for more than one colouring session then we are onto a winner.
