It's that time again! Even I am getting sick of eating chocolate and biscuits all day and am beginning to crave the occasional vegetable. I always have very mixed feelings just before we get back to normality after the Christmas holidays. Half of me is gutted that I will no longer be able to get away with having a gin and tonic at 11am and chocolate biscuits for breakfast but the other half of me is really looking forward to getting a bit of routine back and actually having a few proper meals. Tomorrow is my official first "normal" day and my new exercise regime will be starting with a tentative step back on to the Wii Fit. I loved this when I got it last year and used it loads for about 3 months, losing lots of weight and feeling very positive about things so I am hoping it will work it's wonders again. Can't say I'm not scared of that first weigh in though.
Davina will be taken from the bottom shelf of my DVD cabinet and dusted off. I bought the box set but am ashamed to say I have only tried the 30 minutes workout disc as the other one, The Power of Three is I think an hour and I am not sure i am capable. Will be my goal to give that one a try too this time round though. The routines on the 30 minute workouts are not to tricky to learn and don't need much space. They do get a bit boring after a while but I think any workout dvd does and it does have the option to switch off the sound of Davina's ramblings and just have the music which is a major plus for me. I will be aiming for 3 times a week while the weather is cold and grim until it warms up and I can put phase 3 of my master plan into effect.
I used to use my bike to get to work before I had the kids and enjoyed it as a way of getting from A to B but since moving out to the sticks and sprogging up it just isn't a practical means of transport for me anymore. Last summer though I followed my husband's example and started going out for bike rides just for the sake of the ride and surprised myself by actually enjoying it. I think I like the fact I actually get quite far away from home and there is a little variation every time even if you do the same route every day thanks to weather or wildlife or passing Hang-Gliders. I am really looking forward to getting back into it. Rather than getting back on my rusty, heavy old mountain bike though, kindly bought for me by my parents from a catalogue 15 years ago and built by my dad in the garage, I would rather be out on this Velocity 2008 Sports Hybrid. I don't really know anything about bikes so will have to leave all that up to my husband but I have a good feeling about this one and so have put it forward to him for further investigation.
So there you have it - my secret masterplan to become become thin and fit. I doubt it will work but it's worth a try.
