Following the premature death of my Dualit mixer, I have been boring everyone silly about what mixing machine I should replace it with, veering wildly between "it's only a mixer, I'll get a £5 one from tesco" to " It's an investment that will I will be handing down to my children" as I work myself closer and closer to wanting a Kitchenaid Food Mixer for around the £300 mark. Amazon refunded my money for the old one yesterday and it has got to the point that I am really missing having something to help with the baking so I did a little bit of impulse clicking and have ordered this Kenwood Kmix Hand mixer for £40.
It doesn't have a whisk attachment like my old Dualit one had but I don't really mind hand whisking. The cord storage isn't quite as neat as the Dualit either as it basically seems to wrap around the base rather that stored inside but I think this might mean the machine is a bit less bulky. The attachments look like they clip onto the base somehow which will hopefully be handing and save me rooting around in my cluttered utensil drawer. All in all I like the look of it and have high hopes that it will do the job as well and last a little longer than my Dualit. There is only 1 review on Amazon for the red one and tbh it's not great. The reviewer compains that it broke ater 9 months. There are quite a few reviews on the same mixer in alternate colours though that are all glowing and talk about how sturdy and long lasting it is. I have also searched around the other review sites and noone else seems to have a bad word to say about this mixer so I am going to give it a go. The red one is actually cheaper than all the others and I assume this is because it's not selling so well due to the bad review.
What's your verdict, now that you have (presumably) used this a good few times?
You can read it here It's fab! I much prefer it to the dualit though wish it had a whisk attachment
