OK but didn't really live up to expectation - does anything?

This was my 4 year old's must-have dream item for Christmas last year, we heard about very little else for a month before and it was nearly impossible to get hold of, being sold out in most places. We haven't experienced any of the other Ben10 Metamorfigures but Greymatter supposedly turns into a real pair of binoculars. There is a complicated sequences of clicking this arm into this knee and flipping his eyes up in order to transform him. I have never managed to do myself and when my husband changes it for my little boy, he is never particularly wowed by the binocular function, they are pretty hard to look through and not very powerful. Since the first week he has pretty much played with him as a Greymatter action figure and it has stood up to this challenge fairly well. I think one of his eyes might have fallen off but all his limbs are intact which is quite a feat for a Ben10 toy in this house.

I wouldn't be rushing to buy any of the other metamorfigures as I think kids seem to be happier with simpler imaginative play figures but Greymatter has earned his RRP.
